We all get run down at times. We need to rest, refuel, and then resume. Once you get to the point that you have finished classwork, it is about how stubborn you are more than anything else. Still, even the most stubborn among us needs a boost now and then.
When I was a kid my mom made my brother Erik and me each a pair of pajamas. His were yellow with brown cuffs at the end of the sleeves and the bottom of the pants. With liquid embroidery she put a lion on his and the saying "Strong as a lion!" Mine were royal blue with white cuffs and said, "Stubborn as a mule!" with a mule on them.
What the hell, Mom?!
Anyway, being stubborn is the bulk of the work, but ask for other strategies as you grind forward to the defense. Whether it is your chair, your peers, others who have been through the process, or others who have done different hard things, you have people in your life who want to help.
Here's an article that you might find useful on this topic.
