There is a story about a man who goes to a Zen master to learn how to master meditation. He asks, "How long do I have to meditate each day to be successful at it?" The Zen Master replies, "An hour a day." The man, frustrated, complains and says, "I don't have time for that. I'm a very busy person. I can't meditate for an hour a day."

The Zen master smiles and nods in an understanding way. He says, "Well, in that case, you should meditate for two hours a day."

Even in the midst of life, work, and academics, it is important to slow down. It might be meditation or prayer or time in nature or something else. Make time for yourself in the midst of everything else you are doing.

Here is an article on how mindfulness can help graduate students in case you think that might be helpful to you.

Be kind to yourselves, everyone.
