I read something last summer that I keep thinking about. It was a post on some social media platform. The person wrote:
When I started as a faculty member, someone said, "You are all smart. If you really want to set yourself apart in academe, be kind."
I think of that all the time. I try to practice it.
Doing a doctoral program is scary at times. I try not to make it scarier. Yes, it requires a lot of time and dedication and sacrifice. If you do it with intention, it can also help you build new confidence, powerful relationships, and you might actually enjoy a lot of it.
Let me know how I can help.
